An indulgent, wine-soaked surf odyssey on Portugal’s Atlantic Coast and adjacent vineyards

Includes 4 nights in surf house accommodation, all meals, all wine with meals, wine experiences daily, daily surf lessons and sessions, all equipment hire, and so on and so forth.

They say that surfing is the sport of kings and queens* and that wine is the nectar of the gods. Combine the two in a Portuguese paradise and we’ve got a weekend worthy of your time. Morning surfs followed by afternoon vineyard and sightseeing excursions. Portuguese meals served with Portuguese wines – just as they were intended. Tastings both in-house and in-vineyard so we can get a broad appreciation of Portugal’s wines, as well as a hyper local one. Sunsets over the ocean. New friends. Maybe some parties. Definitely some parties.

For experienced surfers or absolute beginners, our instructors and surf guides will get you on your feet and absolutely ripping (no guarantee but we kinda guarantee), with boards and wetsuits included. There’s a yoga instructor who will help ease out the kinks and get you supple enough to go arse-over-tit on the Portuguese dumpers. The house has a pool and a garden and a pizza oven and you can choose between pod-style dorm beds or your own space.

And in May!?! Not too hot, not too cold, late sunsets, and a good chance to get a head start on your summer tan.

Who’s it for? Solo travellers, small groups of friends, social couples and anyone who just wants to surf, party, drink too much wine and eat delicious food. If you’ve got a bigger group send us a DM for a bespoke package.

Surf’s up, wines in

There’s a stereotype that surfers are all about green smoothies and smoking hemp and let me tell you that while that may be true, we’re also all about great hearty food eaten by the shovel load, even better wine (drunk by the bucket). Because surfing is so much fun, exhausting fun, bending your body in weird ways fun, we work up voracious appetites and insatiable thirsts that are best dealt with through locally produced food and wine.

And it makes us cultural appreciators and even connoisseurs when we dedicate ourselves to getting to truly know the width, breadth and depth of the local gastronomic culture.

So we surf all morning and work up and appetite and then we eat and drink all afternoon, see some sights, and then probably have a good time in the evening. This is the life we deserve to lead.

Welcome to the Surf & Wine Weekend by Swallow Don’t Spit Wine.

What’s Included:

  • Surf house accommodation – pool, garden, pod-style dorms and private rooms available. All the space for activities.
  • All your meals – pre-shred breakfasts in the surf house. Lunches usually on excursion. Dinners at home. All paired with wine (even breakfast… kidding! Or are we?)
  • Daily wine tastings – it’s kind of why were there so let’s do it right. Guided tastings in the house, or vineyard visits, every day we’re up to something winey (otherwise we get whiney).
  • Daily surf lessons – if you’re a beginner, a pro, or somewhere in between we’ll make sure you’re surfing levels up (or if you’ve never done it before, you stand up).
  • A hella sick crew – like all of our trips we only attract the best and like you know, that includes you. So come on down.

Full weekend trip: €495 all included

Solo room upgrade: €150 for the weekend

Extra nights: €65 (accommodation, surfing, meals. No wine experiences, but plenty of wine included)
