We’re looking for an operations coordinator and experiences host
Barcelona based, European (and maybe further abroad) travel required
It’s time, we’re looking for our first hire.
Someone organised, who knows travelling, and who can sit right in the middle of the business and calmly plan trips, host guests, fix problems, pour wine, be the life of the party, but also the responsible host, post the odd story and generally ensure that our unique, amazing and utterly enjoyable trips and experiences not just happen, but happen in a way that builds the Swallow Don’t Spit Wine brand and reputation as the go-to place for fancy-ish experiences that educate and delight in equal measure.
Some days you’ll be up to your neck in spreadsheets and speaking to suppliers.
Other days you’ll be drunk with guests at 10am.
It’s called balance, sweaty, look it up.
It may sound confusing, but for the right candidate it will be easy-peasy and perhaps the best work-life balance there is.
What you’ll actually do.
Operations & logistics

Build and manage the logistics for our trips and experiences (schedules, suppliers, transport, timings).

Be the person who notices problems before guests do – and fixes them calmly.

Help standardise systems as we grow (checklists, run-sheets, etc).

Work closely with the founder on planning and execution.
Hosting & guiding

Host wine tastings, day trips and multi-day experiences.

Be front-of-house: welcoming guests, setting the tone, keeping energy up.

Guide groups with confidence, humour and authority (no wine snobbery, ever).

Travel regularly for trips (Spain, Europe and beyond).
On-destination content

Capture simple, real content while on trips (stories, reels, TikToks, short clips, photos).

No influencer nonsense, just moments that show what it’s actually like.

Work with our brand tone, not against it.
Who this job is for:
As we’re starting out and you’re our first hire this is a junior role in terms of salary, but you’ll have real ownership from day one and a clear path to more responsibility, pay, and influence as the business grows.
You might be:

A great organiser who’s sick of desk jobs.

A hospitality or travel worker who wants more ownership.

Someone early in their career who learns fast and gives a shit.
You do not need:

A wine qualification (we can teach wine).

Influencer energy.

Corporate polish.
You do need:

To be organised, calm under pressure, and good with people.

To like travel, irregular hours, and being “on” when guests are around.

To take responsibility without being babysat.

To communicate clearly in English.
- To be able to stay and work in Spain (working holiday or student visas are ok).
The reality check (read this)

Generally, this is not a 9–5.

Sometimes weekends and evenings are part of the deal (but hours spent hosting trips and experiences will be taken off office hours).

You’ll carry responsibility early.

Pay reflects entry-level status, not luxury travel Instagram.
If you want comfort, this isn’t it.
If you want experience, autonomy, and stories worth telling, it probably is.
